So much of Christmas centres around food - from a traditional turkey on the actual day, to the plates of mince pies that do the rounds from the start of December. If you're going in for a foodie festive season, why not learn from the best.

Luckily some of our favourite chefs have made it a little easier to enjoy a haute cuisine Crimbo, and we've scoured the web for three of the handiest sites for seasonal kitchen tips.

Jamie Oliver lays on a particularly fine spread including useful tips like roasting rather than boiling the veg. By wrapping them in foil with "a lovely herb butter" it will save on the washing up - and on hob cooking space too. Marvellous! He also has recipes for leftovers, as well as vegan, gluten free and veggie alternatives to the traditional feast.

Looking for something a bit different? Try Rachel Khoo for a more Continental Christmas menu. The My Little French Kitchen chef has a mouthwatering array of ideas, from canapés to edible gifts. Her top tip? "Pre-planning, allocating tasks, asking friends and family to bring a dish and deviating from the traditional turkey with all the trimmings are all ways in which you can make your meal easier, but still super tasty…and most importantly, fun!" We're especially partial to her chocolatey Bûche de Noël for dessert. Yum!

Finally, have yourself a cheaper little Christmas with cook and campaigner Jack Monroe. Her £2.25 Christmas dinner was a big hit when she made it on the One Show and, although prices may have changed slightly since then, her website still has the breakdown of how to recreate it yourself at home. The individual recipes for each course are also on her hugely popular blog.

Have a scrumptious festive season!
