IT Data Manager

Working hours: 

Full-time, permanent contract

Monday – Friday 9am-5pm plus outside normal working hours depending on the needs of the business

Key Responsibilities:


  • You will manage all aspects of data handling to a high standard including:
    • Prospects data
    • Supporting the Marketing and Sales teams to execute campaigns
    • Reporting to Insurers
  • Drive the improvement and adoption of the BI platform (Data Warehouse, Tableaux, SSRS Reports) by meeting with department heads and automating their reporting, especially key operational KPI reports used by the business
  • Ensuring data is processed following ICO and GDPR regulations and internal processes are followed
  • Line manage two employees in the IT Data team
  • Manage the work of the IT Data team by establishing work objectives and priorities, assigning work, monitoring completion and implementation and providing direction as required
  • Strive to fully automate the IT Operational tasks
  • Work with the CTO to determine strategy in line with the organisation’s business plan

Key essential skill set and qualifications:

  • A 'customer first' attitude to deal pro-actively with clients and departments at all times in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Minimum 2 years commercial IT experience
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience of working with relational databases and Strong SQL
  • Experience in ETL Tools e.g. SSIS/Pentaho
  • Experience of Data Warehouses
  • Data Processing - Knowledge of ICO and GDPR data processing regulations
  • Good maths skills
  • Must also be capable of running a team with effective delegation to ensure that all tasks are completed correctly and efficiently


Desirable skills:

  • An insurance background would be an advantage
  • SSRS
  • Tableaux
  • AWS Redshift
